NO ONE near me (within a 70 miles radius, at least) carries the Pre-Release, and no one is willing or able to say they will definitely have Nightfall in on the premier date.

SO, Anet, here's 3 copies (at least) that will not be bought anytime soon......

(Somehow I'd think a better distribution strategy would be figured out, especially after the hassle of Factions!)

Well it's not A-Net's fault. It's up to the retailers to distribute the product.

Good news for those in the greater baltimore area of maryland. I've called around to several Gamestops/EB Games and it seems that most of them got in their shipments of the starter pack today. The ones that didn't have them on the shelves already were expecting them in later today. They're being sold for $4.99.

EBgames and Gamestop Online:
The BOnus Pack, IF you bundled it with a preorder of either CE or standard, will ship with that game in October so there arent two shipping dates. If you Bought the Bonus Pack BY ITSELF - Then It will ship NOW, as they are instock unlike some think.

EBgames and Gamestop Real Life:
Good Luck getting a Bonus Pack, SOME stores got a few copies and such, but overall the bonus pack is an Online thing, so dont get mad if your local EBgames dont carry bonus packs..

I've currently been waiting for the bonus pack (5 days now) and was told that after the 15th that EB games in Michigan stores would have them for those that ordered but have yet to see it.

I'm going tomorrow to see if they have the packs in and if not I'll just wait and order mine after this semester of school is up (December) as I am tired of this happening all the time with Anet and GW pre order shipments (didn't get factions til a year later).

My first response didn't address the question. (Generic response about the product not being in stock yet.) So I sent a follow up.

I did exchange PMs on this forum with someone who said that Outpost.com told him that those who ordered while the description included the bonus pack would get it. (I'll let that member identify himself/herself.)

I haven't gotten a direct response myself yet, though.

In Uk I bought pre release pack from my local "Game" store for £1.99 i couldn't find anywhere selling them on the net, apart from ebay ."Game " didnt advertise them on their website either.

I was just able to buy mine from my local GameStop. I had checked before and they knew nothing, but today they had them in. I suggest you guys that have a GameStop nearby call them and see if they have any now. It was $5 and didn't count toward the price of the game, so I put another $5 down for that. Good luck, I know how frustrating this was for me... until about an hour ago.

And its likely they wont have anything then.

And it isnt Anet's fault at all.

EBgames and Gamestop just consider Bonus Packs as ONLINE things mostly, so its totally random and pure LUCK if your store happens to get a few in.

I called all the EBGames and Gamestops in Olympia, WA, plus Best Buy and Circuit City, and no luck.

I will not be happy if I have to order this online to get it at all.

I got an email as well saying it was on backorder. I've sent 2 emails asking for confirmation that my order includes the prerelease pack, but I've yet to get a response. If someone has gotten a response either way, please let us know so we can address it accordingly.

Has anyone in NYC gotten the prerelease bonus pack yet?? its been a week from the 15th now and all the stores including compusa only said "they're coming" but none of them know anything about the date that the store is getting it...

I just figured I'd share my Gamestop experience with everyone.

On the 19th, I went to my local store in the mall (Baltimore area) and asked if they had the prerelease yet. They said no, and their database only listed for purchase the standard edition, the CE, and I believe what they were calling "the starter kit" which was listed for about 5 bucks. I went ahead and reserved 2 copies of the SE and had them make a note on my reservation that I wanted to also reserve 2 copies of the prerelease, so that they could put them aside when they came in.

When I read Xenoslave42's post today (the 21st), I called my Gamestop, and found out that they did in fact have copies of the prerelease in the store. So I promptly went over there and picked up my copies.

Now here is where it gets a little interesting. Firstly, they only had 5 copies of the prerelease show up, so with my appropriating of 2 copies, that greatly reduced the available supply (lucky me). The counter guy had no idea if any more were to show up, however 12 other people had reserved the prerelease/game at that store, so he said that he would expect at least that many more to show up. He also pointed out to me that I was "allowed" to only pick up 2 copies, since I specifically reserved them, thus implying that if any old schmuck walked in off the street and demanded the prerelease without previously reserving it, they'd be SOL. He emphasised "allowed" multiple times, and it was definitely only because I had reserved 2 copies that I was "allowed" to walk out of the store with my 2 copies.

Just so everyone knows, I have no special love for Gamestop/EB Games, although they did take care of me during the Factions release fiasco. And also I wanted to point out that the counter guy was pretty cool, he wasn't trying to be a dick when he explained why I was "allowed" to pick up the prerelease copies. The counter guys only have a limited amount of information at their hands, so don't crap on them when they give you bad news, unless they are acting like dicks, then feel free to flame on.

It seems to me that there are breakdowns in the chain between the software leaving the NCSoft/Anet publishers and the physical store locations, not limited to just Gamestop/EB Games stores. It would be nice if this were more streamlined, so us consumer types don't have to run around like dumbasses, expecting things to show up on a certain date, only to leave a store empty handed and in the dark.

Good luck to anyone out there who is attempting to obtain the prerelease from a physical Gamestop store. I'd be interested to find out if my experience was unique or if that is indeed how the Gamestop/EB Games stores are conducting business.

Anyways news update on the Michigan fiasco again, went to CompuUSA,Game stop,EB games and all seemed to be confused when I talked to them about pre order and Sept 15th.

I was told by the EB games folks that my CE with the bundled pre order would be waiting for me October 27th (I was very angry leaving that store) CompUSA and Gamestop pretty much told me the same thing also (pre order bundles with CE).

Now my question is I thought that you would have a choice between SE and CE when ordering this game was it like this with the "Factions" also? (don't know I got Factions 3 years later
